The notorious former Ugandan dictator died in exile in Saudi Arabia on this day in 2003.
He was the President of Uganda from 1971 to 1979.
He had been in a coma at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in the city of Jeddah since 18 July.
A hospital spokesman said he died of multiple organ failure.
There was some dispute over his actual age, but most sources say he was 80 years old.
Amin was buried in Saudi Arabia, against the wishes of his family who wanted his body returned to Uganda.
