Colour adds life to historic World War One photos

AN EXPERT that makes old black and white photographs into stunning colour pictures has produced a set featuring soldiers from the First World War.

The stunning collection includes a snap of the moment German and British troops laid down their weapons for the famous Christmas truce of 1914.

The black and white photos were restored and colourised by Mario Unger, 53, from Rotenturm in Austria.

“I choose the images of war, because war doesn’t look as terrible in black and white as it does in colour,” he said.
